Have looked at my online account today 1 March and usually all my debits come out of it and my rates that I pay monthly have not come out. I vaguely remember do we pay rates for 10 months so that we get two months free ie February and March or something like that. This question is for Northern Irelanders.

It is normal for rates/council tax to be in 10 monthly instalments - councils HAVE to offer that option.

They can choose to offer 12 instalments - not many do.

Not sure if being in NI makes a difference though
not actually free, just spread over 10months instead of 12,
