A recipe for hobz, which are Maltese bread rolls, is as follows;

600g flour;   10g salt;    15g sugar;   15g margarine;

25g yeast;   345ml luke warm water;   1 tablespoon milk.

1 - mix flour, salt & margarine. Add yeast

2 - mix water, sugar & salt, then add this to the flour mix & knead until dough is white & elastic

3-  Place dough in a bowl, seal with cling, then cover with a wet towel & leave in a warm place for 1 hour.

4 - Work the dough, then cut into small (50g) pieces.

5 - place these on a baking tray, baste with egg, score with a knife & leave to rest for 15 mins

6 - Cook in preheated oven at 450F ( 230 C / gas mark 6-8) for 12 to 15 mins.

This is not my recipe, so don't know what the results will be like
