My local PC World are offering this card at £35. I am looking for a basic level upgrade card. Is this a good card for general purpose use?

Thanks

Thanks for that. AGP is available so I will get that for Christmas.
What are you "upgrading" from?

Presently fitted is original Rage 128 Ultra. I have been advised that this will not be able to support monitors of 1920 x 1080.
quite correct, the rage wouldn't

the Nvidia will certainly be better, however in my opinion ATI have the adge when it comes to multimedia cards (Nvidia are better for gaming) this hold especially true if you are wanting to use a HDMI outputs on the cards.

Thanks for confirming that the Rage card isn't up to it. I am not really bothered about top end performance, just need to drive the proposed new monitor and the price is right for the NVIDIA one.
