I am out of my anti inflammatories and pain killers and I rang the doc yesterday for a prescription and was talking to the other new doctor in the practice not my own. I explained what I wanted and my husband has just collected the prescription and dropped it into chemist - the names of the tablets were different but he was told by the chemist that they were the same. He is waiting to collect and see what they are and then say something if needs be. Do doctors push other medicines because I want the ones Im used to not any other or am I over reacting. A long time ago I took a different inflammatory and my blood pressure went sky high - could have been a coincidence I dont know. Im just mad at the moment and slightly pi$$ed off !

You get both psychological and physical withdrawal from opioids/opiates,heroin in an opiate.
I know many people who think brand name tablets are better than generic when the basic ingredients are identical...such as the salbutamol/Ventolin example I mentioned earlier and the Nurofen/ibuprofen you mention.
sorry, did I say anti-inflammatories - sometimes I can't read my own typing?

( now where's those chuba's Fluffy gave me? )
I think there is also a cost element to be considered as well. identical tablets with the same constiuents are made by a number of companies , but there is a big difference in the price to the NHS.
Is there not something about long term use of painkillers causing pain too - or is it just headaches they can cause?
