posted this in the wrong place i am going to cut down my apple tree which is useless only three or four apples each year my question is as i live on the east coast of scotland wha fruit tree can i put in its place

I think the best answer is for you to go and talk to some local garden centres or plant nurseries near you which sell fruit trees and see what varieties they are selling as they probably won't sell anything which doesn't have much chance of surviving. . They will probably be best placed to advise of varieties which thrive in your part of the world. You have fairly tough weather conditions up there so your choice could be rather limited.
