Absolutely......a great performance. If "performance" is the correct word.
Difficult to tell 100% if he was telling the truth or acting but he didn't half give the Yanks something to think about.
I disagree with most of Galloway's policies, and I disagree with him fundamentally about the Iraq war.  But the allegations against him concerning the sale of oil are obviously nonsense, and I'm glad that he went over to the USA to give them a piece of his mind.  I hope that he will come across intelligently and articulately enough to be able to get through to the general domestic TV audience in the USA.  Incidentally, I instinctively agree with diversity and pluralism, and thus I am glad that he won the election and is still an MP.  Politics needs a few people like him instead of just hundreds of Blairite clones.
I like him best when he's on something like Question Time, as he's a brilliant talker, demolishing opponent's arguments so well.  He's one of the exceptions in politics - i.e. one need not agree with everything he says or does, but he's very enjoyable to watch. More often than not I endorse what he says. Doles anyone know the truth about his Iraq/Saddam thing?
I can't say I would have voted for Galloway had he been in my constituency as a candidate, but he is clearly a brilliant speaker and made the senate committe look quite the fools, especially the leader. It's hard to see how anyone could think he didn't come out on top - the process of evidence gathering that the investigation performed appears to have been a complete joke.
Ive never been that keen on him,but boy did he make the yanks squirm!! more today please george!! result Mission Accomplished.
Ditto the above - not a huge fan, although I supported his stance against the war I did not condone his support of Saddam, however it was a good performance against an obviously token investigation. Quite amusing to stand before the senate commission and take the **** :)
Galloway was superb. I saw most of the hearing on Sky news and it was fantastic. His oratory is great and something that the Americans dont see often. In a land where their President says 'come on lets have them' (and it contrasts with how Blair would respond to questions standing next to Bush), Galloway is also a prime example of how our politicians speak a much more polished language that is erudite and educated and not full of glib lines. Superb performance Galloway.

I think George Galloway may just be turning into Tony Benn - Not somebody you'd necessarilly agree with but you have to admit a sneaking admiration for.

Can't see what he's going to do come the next general election though - protest candidates have a tough time getting re-elected.

Writing his memoirs I suppose - I'll bet the publishers would be kissing his feet!

I'd never had a lot of time for him before, but found myself warming to him more and more during that 18-minute oration. I don't think the committee knew how to deal with him. I didn't see all of the session where he was answering the senator's questions, but he certainly seemed to have an answer for all the questions I did hear.

I'm not USA-bashing here, just glad to see the Senate get its comeuppance. Go George!!
Do you know what - up untill reading your valid views - i didnt have any time for him AT ALL - i assumed he was guilty of all he has been slandered with and havent taken the time to look into it myself -

So is he really innocent of the "Sadam" stuff ? mmm ok i shall look into it
Dont like him, but well done George!
Does anyone know if this actually got broadcast on the main news channels in the US?
Hats off to 'Gorgeous' George. He really gave it to them with both barells (sic). He must be the most misrepresented man in the country, and as a fellow Scot I was proud to see him go over there and put the senate committee in their place. He is clearly innocent and it is good to see the rest of the AB'ers, whether they like him or not, saying the same kind of thing.
Bernado and David. Just saw a report on how his "performance" wa reported on U.S tv news and it wasn't reported at all. They ignored it completely.
Hes very good. why not make him our ambassador to the USA.
He'd never take the job.  There are too many lines to be toe-d.
good on you George.
Although i think that galloway is a bit too like derek degsy hatton for my liking and has an ego the size of  jupiter, and is so pro arab its untrue, there should always be a place for independant mavericks like galloway in politics, i admire his no nonsense bruising style of forceful debating and oratory, he roasted that pompous committee, but still at the back of my mind i think he's a bit of a charlaton and another false prophet for the far left like messrs scargill and derek hatton.

Don't like the man. He's come south to rabble rouse his way into parliment because there wern't enough muslims up north to fall for it.

After watching his performance on news night he could give arrogance lessons to Blair. I think some one might have told him he only won a seat not the keys to number 10 Downing street. He's a one trick pony. He was chucked out of Labor so he wants to get his own back. I'm not saying he's wrong and the yanks are right because thats not true, it's just he's a bit obsessed. Not a good thing in politics. But then that makes him no different to any other politician real.

thought he was fantastic.   I can't remember when I last laughed so loudly at Sky News.   Stunning George, just stunning.
