I am not a very experienced chef but like trying out new recipies now and again. This weekend I am making a dish that requires lamb stock. I have tried a few local shops/supermarket and cannot seem to get this. Would vegetable be the best alternative?

thanks

Oxo do lamb stock cubes. They come in a purple box. Tesco have online recipes which call for these, so if your local Tesco doesn't have them, ask why not and raise hell.
Check out Google for 'oxo lamb cubes'. Multiple sources listed.
I find that most of these stock cubes are very very salty, so be careful when using.

thank you both - I did try my local tesco but at that time did not know to raise hell!! I will mention next time I am in!
Why not make your own stock.

Lamb bones from a butcher, add some veg - onion, carrots, celery - cover with water and simmer for a couple of hours.
Just back from my local Tesco. They didn't have Oxo lamb stock, but they did have Knorr.

thanks Rollo - I might try that another time, one step at a time, ha ha!!

Actually just went to another tesco ready to raise hell if I could not get them and was in luck - I got knorr ones. Thanks again.
I believe Sainsbury`s do "Kallo" brand very low salt cubes, but wether or not they do lamb I couldn`t say until I next visit a large store.
I have Knorr lamb stock cubes......
Just noticed you have already got the Knorr ones. Best of luck with the recipe. Am midway through French onion soup. Takes ages but smells good..
