neck of lamb cut into pieces
lamb cutlets
onions
carrots
celery
leeks
parsnips
cabbage shredded
beef or lamb stock
barley
potatoes
salt and pepper

Fry lamb in a large pot, remove then fry off onions carrots leeks celery and parsnips.

Place lamb back in pot, pour over stock. Add barley and potatoes or either. Season. Then simmer for an hour.

Then add cabbage to the top of the stew, let cook for a further 10 mins.

Serve with hot bread rolls.

I haven't put amounts as this recipe can be for 2 people to as many as you want and should be adjusted accordingly.

Just a warming winter meal....
