I'm being taken back there soon for a royal visit. If I time it right, she'll already have been knocking it back for hours & will be jovial and amicable.

Actually - she's not a bad old bird, for a menopausal, rich, spoilt, delusional, snobbish, alcoholic welshwoman. We have bonded somewhat. (I think she's just relieved someone has 'taken on' her brother - 46, no kids, never been married, becoming reclusive....) She's beginning to think a Gin-Drinking Northerner with a modicum of intelligence is better than no-one for him at all.
