Do you have a landmark where you live, that when you've been away, welcomes you and makes you feel "I'm Home"
I have two, depends on which direction I come in.
The majestic sight of the Tyne Bridge and The Angel of the North (once reviled by a lot but now loved by most)

If I am coming home from the east when I see the Windy Hill Transmitter on Saddleworth Moor I know I am only 10 minutes from home.
If i've been away i know i'm nearly home when i see 'Samson and Goliath' - the two big cranes at Harland & Wolff Shipyard in Belfast.

Puss - it's great isn't it? I normally go down most Saturdays either for my veg (although i sometimes go to Wyken farmers market for those), but always for my flowers! Bury is such a pretty town.

I've never been in there mrsoverall, but my brother has sunk many a pint there.

Bury market in Lancashire.
Espying my local Wetherspoons never fails to stir me ;-)
when i was a kid it was always the water tower or my home town, now its the wind turbine for there.

Barmaid may have seen the "landmark" of where i live now which appears to be a sculpture of a kitchen roll.

but the signs for the "world famous comfort cafe" are another sign Im almost home
the english channel - know i'm near home!
