Well, that was what I heard on the Andrew Marr show early yesterday morning - so apologies!!
Thanks for being forgiving. :o)

However, please note that the Times and the Telegraph do not name the woman who was alleged to be the old lady concerned.

And it is only a supposition from the family that JR was talking about their elderly mother. There would be no jokes about fictitious people if we all thought they related to us!!

And there were only three complaints.

There wouldn't have been any media coverage if the Sachs incident hadn't taken place. Please note I thought Jonathan deserved his three month ban - he went too far, and hopefully has learned.

The reason he's paid so much is because all the major channels were bidding for him and he went with the channel that would pay the most. Wouldn't anyone.

I like Wossy but even I was squirming when he went on about the "farting under the duvet" business.
Me too tigger! I enjoyed his show on Friday, except for the farting bit. Just found it schoolboyish and childish - not offensive though!!
I've never liked Jonathan Ross (even before his suspension, etc.), but kept flitting back & forth hoping to catch Stephen Fry being interviewed on Friday night.

At least SF was interesting & entertaining, which is far more than the **** asking the questions, or should I say, constantly interrupting!

I/we also switch Radio 2 off on Saturday mornings as soon as I/we hear JR's mumbling voice - so irritating!
The word was p-r-a-t!
Stephen Fry and Ross and good friends off TV. I doubt if Stephen minded Ross's style, Smudge.

You know I love Rossy on a Saturday. ;o). The whole family do. Mind you he does play a lot of our favourite music, including Bowie, so that might be a lot of the reason.

As I say Lottie, I don't like JR, so thought I'd post on this thread too. It has nothing to do with anyone who does like him! Just my personal views on the man. ;o}

However, I really do like Stephen Fry & the fact that he & Ross may be friends on/off screen makes no difference to me.

P.S. There are other DAB Radio stations that play brilliant music too, so we listen to them until JR's off!
i think if you dont like his humour then dont listen or watch him , god almighty the man cant be himself incase he offends those meer mortals that dont have a sense of humour, grow up you tweebs that complain get a life
tezmand - choice words!

You say "Grow up you tweebs & get a life"! What? Just because people don't agree with you on JR - how very childish!

Incidentally, my family & I have a terrific sense of humour, but not the sort that JR thinks he has.

P.S. Read back - even chinadog thinks he's not the full shilling. lol
Hi Smudge, take out the word 'thinks he', and I will agree with you!! ;o)

Hi LoftyLottie - blimey, that was quick!

No, I won't be editing my posts for anyone, so we'll just have to agree to disagree in a mature way!

Unlike others, I don't go in for name calling. ;o)

I mean name calling of others on here - but as for JR he is still a p-r-a-t as far as I'm concerned.
Just trying to make a point that the 'thinks he has' makes it sound like you are right and we who like him are wrong. If you see what I mean.

I appreciate we all have different tastes though - and would never ask you to edit your posts! As for being mature, well are any of us really mature - we can all slip into immaturity very easily when riled!!

Must go and have a cup of tea now - It's a lovely day for a change and I have loads to do..........
Are you riled then Lottie?

Chinadog - I think you're right!
Im just amazed that the BBC think he is worth 6 million a year

Still not sure what he brings to the table that no-one else could and as for rival stations wanting him, the only station that competes with the Beeb is ITV
Yes, I wholeheartedly agree JimmyCooper! ;o$
Fact is that slot on a Friday night can be filled with anything and it will get ratings.

His slot on A saturday morning can be filled with anything and get ratings.

Value for money yeah right
