Icemaiden, good to know you are local to me, if you check on my family history you will find I and my family have been around here for over a thousand years.
We can trace ours back to before the Norman Conquest. Wonderful, isn't it? I'll say a big hello to you Prudentia, because it's quite possible you've been a house guest of ours - and possibly recently!!
The Eyres of Hassop, our family owned most of derbyshire in the 15-1600's I just still own my little bit of my families heritage, proud to be an Eyre!!!
Ice maiden you intrigue me, on my last visit to Hassop Hall the loveley Tom Chapman entertained us with coffee and biscuits under the portrait of my ancestor in the foyer, one Thomas Eyre.
Lol @ Ziggy - no, but we've got Sir Henry in the hall!!! : )
Very nice, Prudentia. The Hall's made a nice hotel now, but it's very sad when family homes have to go.
Yes - lol - I'm wondering which of the family you are, although I understand that you're hardly liable to say on this site. You weren't at a recent shoot were you?
