Had to ring in sick with me cold. Boo hoo!

Just making some chicken and rice soup. What remedies/food help you when you are feeling under the weather?

Me too, tiggs. :( Hope you're okay. I have my PJs on and my furry throw around my head for my earache. :)

Starting to feel hungry now; your soup sounds yummy.

Hi Whiskey,

I had to go into work yesterday as so many staff were on leave and I was suffering. You can't win with work. If you go in you feel worse and probably pass on your germs to everyone and if you don't go in it goes against your sick record.

Oh well, my soups is ready now. Yum yum x
poor you tiggs, there is some nasty bugs doing the rounds at the moment

soup is absolutely one of the best foods to eat when you have a cold, I swear by chicken noodle soup, get some rest and recouperation for tomorrow
Hiya tiggerblue,
The thing to do with a cold, go to bed with a bottle of your favourite grog. It won't do a thing for your cold, but by the time you've finished the bottle you won't care!

I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Cazzz,

Yep, just had my soup and very nice it was too. There are quite a lot of staff off sick as well so I guess its definitely doing the rounds. I swear by Vicks First Defence but it didn't occur to me to use it when I first felt the soreness in my throat last Friday :-(

Hi Waterboatman (had a teacher called Mr Boatman many years ago),

Sounds good but I don't drink (well 99% of the time anyway). My dad used to get me to drink whiskey, lemon and honey which was ok but I don't have any alcohol in the house.
Hi Tigger and whiskey,

Hope you both get better soon!

Thanks Funny xxx
Hi tiggs,
Wot! No grog?! Oh well in that case, your soup is about the best you can do. paraceamol or some such can help, but the go to bed bit is still the best option. sleep is the great healer. But the grog is nicer, 'hic' :-)

*** off Steve and Logic. You ****** men get a little sniffle and act like the world has ended. I've stayed at home cos everyone at work was moaning at me for coughing, sneezing and blowing my nose all over the place.

As I said before, you can't win no matter what you do.
