Courier Flights

A few years ago someone told me of a way to fly slightly cheaper with certain airlines by being a courier.  Apparently if you agree to take certain documents from England to the States (as an example) for the airline and hand them in at the other end, you will get a discounted flight.  I am interested in flying to the USA in June but the prices are quite high and I thought this might be a cheaper way of travelling.  Does anyone out there have any experience of this?

I read that there are very few deals like that left because owing to e-mail, there is not so much need to transfer documents any more, but good luck finding one.

As I understand it you have to be prepared to travel at a moments notice, you can take hand baggage only and they arrange a return flight which ideparts almost immediately after you arrive.

Overnight delivery services like UPS & FedEX have largely removed the need for jobs like you describe.
