We are planning a week in County Clare for a dance festival in early July.
We will be driving from Dublin to Miltown Malbay.
Have the roads improved since we last went 15 years ago? How long will it take us (160 miles or so)? Are there any interesting stopping places on the way?
Last time we visited Athlone, the cliffs of Moehr, the Burren, and Lisdoonvarna. We don't want a lot of extra driving this time, but is there anything we should see while we are there?

I asked my mate Paddy, and he said The roads are still shoite! Yer moight get a horse an' cart through there.

A frivolous answer, but itll bump your question a bit.

I remember 'you can't get lost', in our case it was 'turn left by the barn with the ira sign'.
