An old friend of mine committed suicide a couple of days ago and last night I sat in bed thinking about it. The how could anyone or what could be that bad etc. I mean he was in a lot of debt but hey do what lots of people do go bankrupt, but also the way in which he died, I mean yer at some point in life we're all going to die and someone has to find us, but he hung himself from goalposts on a playing field, why?? Not only would it be possible some stranger found him and be haunted for life but even more possible a child. I find it disgusting and it makes me angry but sad at the same time. I have lost 4 friends now through suicide, 3 hangings and one overdose. Is there any nice way to go?

Oh thats awful. I wonder if he did change his mind. The mate I had a date with that killed himself told me that night he'd been on a shopping spree and how many new clothes he' bought. I didnt get that either
I do think it's possible that someone with depression can live - and suffer - a seriously bad time for a long time, and then suddenly be overwhelmed with a surge of such force that death is the immediate option.

A friend of mine came home from work, had tea, and was due to meet his girlfriend that evening. His mum went next door for fifteen minutes. When she came back, he was not downstairs, so she assumed he was getting ready to go out. When his girlfriend phoned to say he was late, she went upstairs, to find him hanging from a roof beam in the loft.

As with all these terrible situations, no-one could believe that it had happened. I was with him the previous evening, he seemed fine, but as I now know, that is absolutely no indication of a perilous mental state.

I do believe that this sudden onset of self-destruction can occur in minutes, and be acted upon instantly - which does explain apparently 'long term' actions and behaviour right up to the time of death.
My love uncle in New Zealand pruned his roses, collected the engine for his fishing boat and was due to go for a walk with my auntie.

She couldnt find him so went in the garage to find him hanging. She and a neighbour cut him down but it was too late.

It happened on his sons birthday which i know many people find shocking. But its a chemical imbalance in the brain and he was on Prozac too.

All I know is that he was the nicest man and so kind and so much fun. Its such a sad loss. That was 18 years ago and my auntie still lives in the house which I think makes her an incredibly brave and strong woman.
sorry meant lovely uncle bit upset!
Good thing you made that correction sally. That could have been misinterperated( or however you spell it).
