Just had a reminder that the only library book I have taken out in about twenty years is overdue - I totally forgot I got it when I was waiting to use the computer as mine was being repaired. Now my question is, will I need a second mortgage to pay the fine? It was due back on 22nd February.
The library will be shut by the time I get there today, so if I put it through the letter box will they send 'the boys' round to collect the fine? Just remembered its Easter, so probably won't get it back to them until Tuesday.
Result! Just renewed it online, so haven't got to go out and get wet. Fine is 2.50 up to today, so not as bad as I thought (I was adding all the weeks up and thought I owed them a fortune. Knew that book on computing would come in handy.........If only I could remember where I put it.
That reminded me of when my daughter went to Uni and I cleared her room to decorate, I found four books that were over two years overdue. I took them down to the library and when no one was looking put them back on a shelf and ran. We haven't heared from them since.
