I realise that this should be in 'Animals & Nature', but I just had to put "down" a family member: Jake the cat.. If you like animals as I do isn't the most depressing thing that you ever have to do? You live with them for maybe 12 years, and then suddenly they are not there!

So sorry at your sad news stewey. They have such personalities and it hurts when they are no longer there. I have one who is nearly 18 and I too dread that I may have to take that decision.
Take care XX

Oh, stewey - so saddened to read your post - they leave such a gaping hole in your life when we lose them. It is the hardest thing any one of us has to do when our beloved pets are involved. You know in your heart what has to be done, but it makes it no easier. best wishes, S
Stewey hun , that's very sad , you poor soul , it's dreadful when you lose a beloved pet . ((( hug ))) xxxxxx

Just read of your loss this morning.
I am so sorry and know just how you must be feeling.
You did the best thing for jake, but as you say, it is like losing part of your family.
Chin up xx
Oh bless my favourite little bowl of Stewey, I'm really sorry to hear that. It is sad, I had a cat a few years a go who got run over and I was really upset, truth was I liked that lttle cat more than I like most humans I meet.

I think keep having them round as they are wonderful company. My mums cats are respectively 12 and 17 and I just hate the thought of them not being around one day. I've known one of them longer than my oldest friends :c)

Chin up pumpkin.
Hi stewey, I am so sorry about your cat and yes I agree that it is horrible when a pet dies. We always had cats and dogs when we were growing up, our last dog was a mongrel and she had a brilliant nature, very funny, very loving and she died when she was about 14 but she still looked like a young dog. I can still remember the day she died and it was so upsetting that I vowed never to get another pet - that was about ten years ago!
My niece got a Shi -Tzu 2 Christmasses ago and she is a terrific dog, and I also got my pup this Christmas and I wouldnt be without them now.

Hxx
Awww Stewey sorry to hear that. My cat Snoopy was 15 and had to be put down as he had kidney failure. He was put down on my birthday of all days. I was devastated and I still miss him a lot. This was in 2000. xxx
Hi,stewey-I have just read your post and i just want you to know my thoughts are with you. It is so painful to loose a pet-especiallly when we have shared our lives with them for so long. I had my Cleo put to sleep almost 2 months ago-she was only about 6yrs old yet I shed so many tears....i think it was worse because she had not had the long life she deserved, and I had her only 2yrs. Wait a bit,-give yourself some time.....you may find that there is room in your heart for another furbag xx
