Hello...Does anyone know at what stage you are still able to not accept a job that you apply for?  For example, I have an interview for a part-time job, but am thinking that I really don't want to work there.  If I go to the interview and they say "you've got the job", can I say actually, I don't want it thanks!..?

Of course you can.  You can say politely that you now realise that this is now the right job for you.  However, if you already know you don't want the job, why don't you phone them and cancel the interview.  They will be grateful you didn't waste their time.

Thanks Fakeplastic, very quick response! =)

I used to interview people for work & I really would have appreciated a call just to say that you were no longer interested in the job. I would have then been able to re-arrange another interview in your slot, so to speak. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
agree, completely. Also the thing to consider is if you might want (or need) to work there in the future, you wiil have done better by not cheesing off the interviewer by wasting their time
One thing you should never do is accept a job you don't really want. Your under no obligation ever to an employer to work for them, not before, during or after.
