immagration and marriage law in laos
my friend has a girl and daughter in laos..hes distraught as he cannot get married to her even though he has been over 4 times to try...from wot i gather the local government are dragging their heels in allowing them to marry..his daughter is 5yr old...he doesnt know where to turn for help in this situation...any suggestions would be much appreciated.......

This is a different set of facts to your question in Travel. If it is the Lao Authorities who will not allow the marriage, it seems strange. Normally, it is a case of turning up at the Govt offices to register the marriage, with appropriate fees and documents completed. It may be that the officer wants a bribe to register the marriage, but there is no reason for the Govt stop the marriage if everything is correctly done.
