i noticed that many of you reccomend using ccleaner.my question is when it has finished its scan how do you know what you should delete and what to leave.the reason i ask is that although i have`nt tried this one yet i did use a similar programme before and deleted everything it said to,then found out some of my programmes would`nt work properly afterwards so i had to do a restore.i do have a lot of stuff on my pc and although i disc clean and defragment once a month i still think i could clear some more crap off of it than just disc cleaning alone

When I run it I just take all the defaults and I don't have any problems.

You can run it using the "Analyse" option and you will get a list of the files that it would remove if you ran the "Cleaner" option. Then you could decide if you wanted to change the list of options that the cleaner would delete before you run it in "Cleaner" mode.
start small

the default settings are OK
if you are feeling extra cautious ... just clean the temp folders
oops ... didn't mean to submit

some cleaners are ruthless ... they hunt out duplicate DLLs and registry entries ... but some progs "prefer" their own versions ... so delete the wrong one ... !!!

you are already doing it right .... the only way to increase the space is to uninstall old or unused progs .... backup and delete photos and music .... of fit another disc
