At the beginning of August we received 2 letter from the benefits office with our address but someone elses's name this person has never lived at this house we have been here for 32 yrs. The man was claiming housing benefit and pension credit since we own this house I was baffled. I managed to contact someone at the office and was asked to return the documents with a covering letter which I did. 3 months later I had not had any acknolwedgment from them When I rang again they said as far as they were concerned the matter had been sorted but they would not tell me if it was their fault or this person had used our address dliberatelly We do know someone with this name he has never been to our home and it is approx 25 yrs since we have seen him Any ideas who could check to make sure he is not using our address for any other purpose.

well you can ask for an online credit check but not sure if you do it by address or by name, but look at the experian.com site and it will explain the process
Check their website for a number where you can reach them. I find it's better to do this by phone than by doing it on-line. You will end up getting a lot of junk mail, spam etc. if you request it on-line.
