I watched the WL (on Thursday or Friday - can't remember which one, now!) and the contestant's target of 1000 in the bank was reached in the first round, with no banks and with no incorrect answers.

However, in the pre-voting-off summary, the guy said "so-and-so was the strongest link and whats-his-name is the weakest link................" which puzzles me.

Everyone answered their only question correctly and nobody banked too early/late, so how could they determine who was "strongest" and "weakest" links?

i think it depends on the speed that they answered in

Ah! Thanks
I think it's the one who answered the first question because they only won 20.0.A bit unfair.
Strongest link has answered one question and banked 1000 in the case submitted.
if all questions are answered and nobody banks it automatically stops when it gets to 1000 as then everyone has a had a question asked and then it goes to weakest and strongest link by speed of questions answered

That was the scenario, gina32 - thanks.
It has nothing to do with speed of answering.
Provided no one gets a question wrong then the person who started first banks the 1000 and is therefore then the strongest link. The next person along is then the weakest link as the amount of money their question was worth was the lowest . Subsequent contestants then become 2nd.3rd,4th weakest etc.
