A beautiful Essex lane, closed to traffic for over 50 years, all but deserted now except for the very occasional dog-walker. I have been down there for 2 hours and not seen another mortal soul.
Instead of which I am in sodding Croydon, but the cemetery is close by, and that is quiet (as you might expect)
High Society, it's not about isolation, it's about solitude at the right time. If I had my way I'd live far in the countryside, all I'd need would be a Londis within cycling distance.
Anybody want to swap for a Croydon 3-bed ? You get loads of amenities, IKEA (YE GODS !!), a sewage works, and can get to the West End in 17 mins.
