I have applyed for job but I had my finger prints taken roughly 35 years ago. will this show up and stop me from getting a job?

under the 1974 young offenders act this should not be a problem,unless you have a job working with children,then the police will look into your past records.
I had my prints taken about 19 years ago for a civil offence. They are still on record, having worked as a civvy with the police. I now work with kids & nothing showed up on my CRB check.
I work with kids and never filled in my CRB check form, they've never chased it up. It could liken it to a chocolate fireguard.
