I am running windows XP and replaced what I thought was a faulty keyboard with a new compatable microsoft one,the keyboard has started doing the same as the old one and swapping keys about i.e.- @ becomes "- etc;
any ideas thanks?

Sounds as if XP thinks you have a US keyboard not a UK one.

Try Start, Control Panel, Date Time Language and Regional Options, then Regional and Language Options and make sure you have English (United Kingdom) set as the default .
