I've been given a written warning for telling a child off. The said 'thing'' was wandering off at circle time (I work at a pre-school) so I brought him back and he wriggled and told me 'let me go!'. he then proceeded to punch me and elbow me (the previous week on a trip he kicked me and threathend to bite me...) I told him in an adult voice 'Do not punch, elbow,kick, or bite'. His mum is one of my supervisors and when she's there he's a nighmare, when she's not there he's an angel. (who I hate...) Surely I can go to work without being abused by a 3 year old? Should I put up with this? Am I not able to discipline these small people??? without the rist of a written warning!?

I can't help with your question, however i'm alarmed that you hate a 3year old child! Are you sure you're in the right job here?
Does the pre school have a behaviour policy? Did you follow it? Were you just given a written warning without verbal first or have you had warnings before? If what you say happened was exactly true this does sound a bit harsh. Have you had chance to put your side across with your manager?

you don't have to deal with the individual.. he is seriously defunct. his mum has even admitted that he abuses her at home! at three. I asked her where her got his actions/language and she said 'dad'. How can I tell her of if his dad is a F'ing mysoganist and imposing this behoviour on his son it's coming out at playgroup?
