My friend has tried it - she cracks a raw egg into a coffee cup, covers it with cling film and zaps it for 1 minute - comes out perfect! I've never tried doing it though, I'm scared it will explode or something.
Hello, Yes possible - as previous answer - BUT put grease the edge of the cup with butter / marge first to stop it from sticking, and add a couple of cm of water in the bottom to help the egg cook properly.  Oh and keep an eye on it when you nuke it - time varies on different eggs.  Ta :o)
Question Author
should i cook it on normal or reduced power?
Cook on Med power for 60-90 sec but don't forget to puncture the yoke first otherwise it will explode

You can buy proper microwave egg  poachers.

 see http://tinyurl.com/69vq6

Might seem excessive but when you have one explode it saves ages cleaning inside of oven.

Yes of course

A teacup of water in a mug. Zap at 700W for 30s

Put in egg

puncture yolk with fork or sharp thing

zap at 700W for 45s

take out, put on plate - not your fingers watch out its hot.

Eat,

You're gonna do this while you're watching a film or tee-vee, arentcha? A tea spoon of malt vinegar at step one makes it taste better.

(you put the teaspoon of vinegar in the cup as well as the water and not your mouth)

I have not seen this programme when is it on??!!!???

Netty.m

this q originally was in arts and lit

I kinda liked it there because it stood out.

so the comment about eating it in front of the tee vee kinda fitted in with the arts and lit flavour.

Sorry

i just tried peter pendants little recipe and i just got a funny shaped boiled egg. What did I do wrong?
I always half fill a jug with boiling water, add a few drops of vinegar and crack in the egg. Pop some pierced clinfilm over in case it pops. Zap for 70 seconds for large egg and 60 for medium. Perfect!
