Why do bird sing all night out side our house. My daughter has noticed it too. To start with when I woke up through the night and heard the singing I thought it must be nearly time to get up, but I started looking at the clock and it seems to happen all night - does anyone know why??

Robins sing at night (the male's I think) and they are really loud too!! Maybe its been worse the last few nights with the massive full moon as it looks like daylight!
Some birds are fooled by street lighting too - particularly robins.

Thank you both, I will pray for a night when the street lights go out!
I've always been one to stay up into the early hours every night, but have only noticed this within the last few months. Before that, they would only start singing around here at about 3-4am. Now, they're starting at 11pm-midnight. It's very strange, and it's quite dark where we are, hardly any streetlights, so i don't think it's that (not here anyway). I'd be very interested if anyone can come up with some other possible explanations.
