I've been thinking just lately I might give yoga a try but wanted to get some opinions first. Is it worth while or is it all namby pamby nonsense? Does it cost a fair few pennies? Your thoughts are much appreciated!

indieanna86 if you find the right 'teacher' it will change your life.
You should do some research into your local classes even go along and see if you can watch for a bit.
There are so many different types of yoga that each class will offer something different and be approached in a different way.

Well I don't do Yoga anymore, but I did see a Yoga teacher privately for a back problem which was completely cured in six sessions, after 18 months of physio failed.

My Teacher started Yoga after a car accident left him in a wheel chair and told he will never walk again, he spent 6 months with a Yoga Teacher in India; he now runs or jogs everywhere he goes, and puts his body in positions I did not even think was possible let alone legal.

So yes it is worth while, but if you are going to take up Yoga because of a medical condition, either go to a Teacher specialising in Yoga for injuries or at least talk to your Yoga Teacher about your problems before attempting anything!!

I think Yoga is a great all round therapy, for the body and the mind!! and I ain't no hippy!!! but I must admit, I have eaten lentils!!
I thought it was fun. Though I never went to proper lessons though you are supposed to, I followed it from a book and it improved my strength and flexbility no end with little effort or 'pain' I've been looking into classes in my area and they rarleyt cost much if any more than an aerobics or swimming session
As I've mentioned on here before - I really enjoy Yoga & believe it or not, our last Yoga teacher was in her late 70's - she knocked spots of us younger ones with some of her contortions!

It's good for body & mind, along with swimming & is/was very beneficial after a busy day at the office!

Enjoy!

Defo try it! I have been going to a very low impact class for around a year now and i'm addicted. You come out feeling brill and its exercise i actually look forward to doing!x
