Princess Diana and Michael Hutchence
Eric Morcambe.

Particularly when I saw Ernie Wise's expression afterwards on the front of the Telegraph.
I remember Pete Duel dying, he was my fav in Smith & Jones although later I quite fancied the other one, I wonder what happened to him? John Lennon, Elvis and Princess Di, all upset me though, I was peeling potatoes when I heard about Elvis and completely ruined dinner!
I was very sad when Bobby Moore, the greatest English footballer ever, died, also Brian Jones of the Stones, then when I heard little Steve Marriot of the great small faces had died in a fire, that was a real shock.
Being young and impressionable at the time, River Pheonix's death upset me, and Kurt Cobains.
George Best's funeral when his son Calum got up to read the poem. i got a big lump in my throat then.

I'm with Panic Button ~ Eric Morecambe, and later when Ernie died too.

Ayrton Senna's death affected me quite badly, which surprised me as I was always calling him all the names under the sun!

I wasn't that bad when George Best died, but I was incredibly moved watching his funeral on TV.
...and I justn't forget George Harrison.
Ayrton Senna for me, and Princess Diana.
Marc Bolan (T.rex) he was so young, weird but great music!!
I think the first celeb's death I shed a tear over was Kenneth Williams - I loved so many films/progs of his.

And then Stuart Adamson (Big Country). I loved their music when I was at school, and was extremely sad to hear of his suicide.

And whilst I'm not a Royalist at all, Princess Di did get to me a bit. There was definitely something in the air....
Same as Joby for me.

Remember watching the race when Ayrton Senna died and crying watching it all happen.

Was away volunteering when Princess Di died and everyone was just sitting watching the TV in shock, one of the other volunteers had worked as a bodyguard to her and was devastated. Was helping look after a girl with Downs Syndrome and she was very badly affected bless her.
Princess Diana and i know it sounds silly but it still makes me sad if she's on the telly or the crash is talked about. The other one whose death still makes me very sad is John lennon. I remember the day he died so well even though i was fairly young at the time and didnt appreciate him like it do now..
eyeshade ben Murphy was over here last summer and was interviewd on radio and did a few other things, he still looks great,
check out all about his visit and anything else A S & J related, Linda and I are both members of this forum:
