My 12 year old daughter chose to live with her father last year, his new wife and him made it increasingly difficult for me to have any contact, now he is getting divorced so contact has kind of resumed but is erratic and promises are broken and arrangements changed on a whim.I have seen my daughter twice in a year and there is another court case coming up in April. Her father failed to show up at the last one.I suspect he may do the same this time, can he be punished for this, because I travelled a long way to the courts and it wasted everyones time and money and not a thing was resolved.
thanks

I don't know the answer to your question but a solicitor specialising in family law will know the ins and outs. Do you have a solicitor? Also, is an organisation called CAFCAS (child & family court advisory service) involved? If not, look them up in your local phone book and ring them for some free advice.
