If i get a wireless connection for my laptop, what about security, is just as safe as a broadband connection, i understand i use a local network and a network key. If someone else is on same network do we share bandwidth and can each other see contents of our hard drives?. I am a total novice rrgarding this so simple explanations please

Thanks pauln90 for such a swift response soundsa abit daunting, may need a bit of help witht this one !
One step at a time.

Get your wireless sorted.

Then secure it.

Then worry about filesharing - unless you set it up to do so, pcs sharing a network cannot see each others files.
