A few years back there was a book about the unsung heroes of the RAF [the mechanics, fitters, ground crew etc] who kept the aircraft flying in WW2. No longer stocked by the then stockist. Past Times. Don't know the title, author, publisher or ISBN or even if it's in print still, any ideas?

Question Author
Galltin - did that, and MSN search; no joy, without a title or author I'm a bit stuffed
Hi Paul, I did a bit of cruising around Amazon, and came across a book called 'Hornchurch Offensive: The Definitive Account of the RAF Fighter Airfield, Its Pilots, Groundcrew and Staff, v.2', by Richard Smith. ISBN: 1902304799 See http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1902304799/qid=1091 827349/sr=1-20/ref=sr_1_2_20/202-8830558-2207853 On the same page a little further down, is 'Hornchurch Scramble'. Any good? (Hope that link works!)
This is a brilliant site if you don't know the title or author. http://www.abebooks.com/docs/Community/BookSleuth/Archives/S olved/solvedAug13.shtml
Try The Aviation Bookshop or Motorbooks or buy Flypast mag or similar and look at the bookseller ads in there.
