my book is almost complete. I am looking at publishing it via amazon as an e book for kindle etc. My questions are:

How much do amazon charge per sale?

How do i convert my book to make it an e book?

This is a true account story so what would you put as a buying price?

I have googled and checked amazon, but there is too much information and its confusing me!

I do not want to put my name as author, i will use an alternative name. How does that work with being paid etc? I do not have accounts in my alternative name.

I am sure there will be someone on here that will have this knowledge.

I am struggling to make ends meet, so hence the right time to publish my book.

Many thanks to you all in advance. x

i no nothing about this subject apart from i would copyright it before anything else
If its a 'true account' make sure you are not breaching any libel laws!

Its not about anyone else so i can safely say i should be ok on the libel law bit. I haven't mentioned names. I have manipulated the story a little so no one can put it to a face if you know what i mean.

How do i get copywrite?
If you wrote it, you have copyright. No need to do anything.

Make sure you get it proof read. My friend published a book via Amazon and it sells for £1.99....but it is for charity.
I agree with ummmm - get someone to proof read it for you. They will check it for grammatical mistakes and to make sure what you are trying to say makes sense. A fresh set of eyes.

To be honest, i don't have anyone to proof read it. I have read it many times and think it is fine. I want to tell the story, but don't want it linked directly to me, hence using a different name for the author. Ummmm how did your friend do it?
I'm not sure. I will ask her and get back to you.
I've sent her a message. She has 7 kids so she might not get back to me today. She will def get back to me though.

Oh thank you ummmm xx
Download KindleGen to convert your ebook to Kindle format:

From the same page download Kindle Previewer so that you can check your book has formatted properly and can be read easily.

Amazon take at least 30% commission.

You open your Amazon account in your own name and use your pseudonym as the author. That will not be a problem.
You absolutely must get it proofread, especially if your posts on here are the same standard of grammar and spelling as your book. Sorry to be harsh but there are numerous mistakes in your posts.
If you are on any means tested benefits you may have to declare any income and the tax man would be interested too.
This is her reply...

"It's very easy tell her to look up createspace and self publish with them and download her document onto it. Its easy to follow and the pricing will come at the end of the process and it will go out on amazon kindle automatically. Hope she does well and good luck to her xxxx"
