The telly's just blown up! Anyone recommend a reasonable 28" TV on the market for around the 300 mark...I know it's not a huge budget but all we can afford at the moment!

Makro's do some excellent deals......... Well within that price range....... But you may need to use someones Makro card.........
also try comets website - they do some good online only deals
i rent i can get a much better tv that i could buy and they fix it. i bought my 1st tv from makro and it broke 10 days after the guarantee ran out! i hadn't even used it the whole year as it had been in storage! after that i rented and so far it's been excellent. i use these guys - http://www.dialatv.com
I have a Panasonic 28" 100hz 18 months old in as new condition cost 780 which you can have for 300 with a 3 1/2 year John Lewis guarantee if you are not too far from Bedford.
i would never rent as you are paying 400 ish per year for nothing - if u buy on hp u could get the same monthly repayments and own your telly at the end of it ! there are also good 0% deals out there so you might be able to push your budget up
I reccently bought a 28" Widscreen LG Flatron TV from www.empiredirect.co.uk for 300.Its a great TV with excellent picture quality.

Thanks for all your help! Will do my research today. Thanks for your offer Nadia - would have gone for that if I didn't live in blinking Preston!
Take a look at www.reviewcentre.com before you decide.
not being funny, but you can get a descent widescreen for less than that at tescos or asda! i got one and its well good.
Why not try Aldi, yes I know there cheap but they have some good deals on at the moment.
Sommerfield and KwikSave sell 28" widescreen tv's. Technosonics.. I paid 179.99 but they had them on offer for 159.99. They have 2 scart sockets and lots of features. Buy one of those and get a plasma tv when you have the money
