In Outlook Express, I want to view only the mail sender and the subject. How do I ensure they are not downloaded before I want them to be?

Pretty well impossible, I am afraid. You cant 'see' your mails, protected whilst still at your Internet Service Provider, prior to a request to receive/download what.'s there.
