Can anyone recommend any good smokey jazz? No trumpet or sax sounds - only bass, piano and drums. Many thanks

Telonius Monk (pianist) did a few albums with his favourite drummer and little else though thy're not easy listening! If you don't mind guitar instead of piano, then there was a series with Barney Kessel and Shelley Manne that are superb (just guitar, drums & bass) and worth a listen anyway
Try 'Cacailie Norby'. Piano, base and drums, but does have horn aswell. Softer jazz and worth checking out, even with the horn
Check this one out - one of the best ever ! But I think you will struggle to buy it now. http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDMISS704070905543 52208&sql=Auohe4jo71wal
for just piano also try errol garner (may not be what your after bet no horns)
Eroll Garner - wow! Also, Earl Hines "One Night Stand in Paris" Another is Ralph Sutton and of course my favourite is Fats Waller
