Kings Portrait

I can't do links on my phone but what do we think of the new portrait of the King. 

Looks like a sea of blood to me..dreadful piece of art.

I rather liked it, actually.  Agreed that the red background is a bit strong, but the figure emerging from it is pleasing i.m.o..

I like it.  I think it flatters him a little.  His face is often too red when you see him out and about on TV.  In this picture the surrounding colour makes him look pale ish.

I love it!  Amazing use of shade and colour, really sensitive really captures the image of a man emerging from a previous state of being, one of the best royal portraits I have seen in years

looks like Jackson Pollock lobbed a load of red paint at a wall and then stuck on a boat and some germans. Horrible.

I'd like to see it from a distance. I'd like to see the depth and perspective.

It is a very different sort of portrait and I am in favour of it.

The idea of concentrating on his face is brilliant and is very in depth.

I have noticed so many other images and faces within the "sea of blood". Quite a journey to go through them all.
