The parents of an old army colleague of mine used to run a pub/hotel in Gazely which overlooked the Rowley Mile, Maydup. Visited once and that's the only time i've ever been to the Newmarket races.

If you have ever caught any of the chatter between Togo and myself of the Saturday Punt thread, you may know i'm a big fan of Saffie Osborne. Had a quid e.w. on her 20/1 winner at HQ.

Got a couple of quid on Pressure's On in the last, too.

Yes.No I was bored AND.... my mastering arabic (wightman) II arrived to day ( gosh!) - ready for the three hour lesson tomorrow

AND the Lynne Reid Banks (L shaped room etc) novel. Heroine falls in love and goes out to a kibbutz - ahhhhh - and then finds lover-boy is shooting Arabs as a secrret pass-timme - uuuugh!

and didnt like that... what about The Curtain Kundera - the hero  explains why he was working for Stasi ( whaaaaaat?). Thought to be autobiographical and introspective/ reflective
