Interest has been shown recently in producing the longest thread.

The other forum which I repeatedly bore you with, has a couple of everlasting threads, one called The Happy Thread and one called The Grumpy Thread.  I can't remember whether we've ever tried it here.

So I'm kicking off the former here - how about giving it a go folks ?

The "rules" for this thread should proscribe all name-calling, all negativity, all pessimism, and all other unpleasantness (probably what Ab Towers had in mind originally for Chatterbank). Anything goes as long as it's harmonious.

P.S. These rules prevent me for offering a candidate to start the Grumpy Thread 😀   😀   😀   😀   😀   😀   😀

I love watching the birds at the feeders.  And the sly pigeons who can't perch on them all hang about underneath picking up the spillage - I'm very pleased that they do, otherwise the mice will be along.

^^              ^^

That's true, they know the little birds will spill some while feeding,i also put mealworms down on the ground for the robins, blackbirds, and thrushes,it's a joy to see them.

I've just realised - wwe have done it here before, with the Reasons to be Cheerful threads.   Never mind, this will polarise it all to one thread.

I'm feeling very cheerful now, the plumber has sorted out my leaking stopcock this evening - no more flooded toilet floors.

The "rules" for this thread should proscribe all name-calling, all negativity, all pessimism, and all other unpleasantness

That's wiped out 99% of those whom inhabit the news section these days

Today is 22 months without booze and I am the lowest weight i have been for 20 years. This makes me happy.

22 months, well done , one day at a time. Was it AB drove you to drink ? :-)

I got a cat yesterday.  He's called Floki.  He came to me through a friend of a friend.

I've just noticed he's ate his supper so it looks like he's settled in.

Floki ...?

I think it's a Syrian word.  I've no idea what it might mean.

Google reckons.

Floki is a masculine name of Icelandic and Nordic origins. It means "heroic Viking," and is said to be the name of the Viking who discovered, and named, Iceland.

So your new pussy-cat may be a brave explorer?

If you need someone to start a grumpy thread Canary, look no further 😠

Well, he's a new home to explore now.  It's a good name.

I'm just very happy to find Randy Marsh on here

Just reviving this thread because this news story gives me great joy:
