Have you got a link or list please? You list a few figures of £16000 and £18500 but that's a long way short of a £million.

Yes jacksonreacher- probably the same site gulliver got it from.  There's still no breakdown- seems odd to mentions a few relatively small amounts adding up to £50000 and not give details of the other £950000

Even the Satndard report says the payments were made under longestablished rules agreed by Parliament. Yes the turnover shows the chaos in governemnt.... but where does 'Crony Club' come into this- other than the fashionable use of alliteration.

The figure, released by the Department of Health and Social Care, made him the 20th departing secretary of state to receive a sum after leaving their jobs in the turmoil of 2022.

Along with the dozens of ministers who also accepted the money under the “loss of office” rules, the Opposition’s final tally for the payments reached £933,086. //

Yes we can read. But there's no breakdown to support labour's claim. But I know you're pretending not to get my point.

These arrangements have been in place since 1991 and have been accepted by each party in governemnt, Labour, Cons/Lib Dems.

In 2010 over £1million was paid in severance to Labour ministers. From Hansard:

"This is a statutory entitlement, and it has existed and been implemented for several decades, by Governments of all stripes. Severance payments were made and accepted by outgoing Labour Ministers between the Blair and Brown years, as well as during the Administration in 2007, and by Liberal Democrat Ministers during the coalition. To ensure transparency, severance payments are published in the annual reports and accounts of Government Departments. As an example of the previous operation of this provision, the data published in 2010 indicated that severance payments made to Labour Ministers in that year amounted to £1 million. "

Let's see whether Labour (who will be our next government) abolish or reduce the terms for them.
