Fireworks

I've been watching other people's fireworks through the window.

It does seem odd not to hear the ooohs and aaahs that must be compulsory.

Why do people do that?

I would hazard a guess and say the human voice don't carry as well as the noise from the fireworks.

Because a decent firework display can look quite spectacular. 
It was too wet and windy for fireworks here, thankfully.
