Has it finally been found? The might of the nation brought to bear on campers while the invasion continues apace.

Every city I've ever visited in the world there have always been homeless people.

Suella isn't going to solve the problem by banning tents.

Does she think they'll choose to go back to their warm homes instead or something?

Quite possibly Anne...though I'm seeing familiar faces on our streets here. Long term homeless, plus some new faces.

There may be fewer places available to house them too.

Maybe Suella will make her spare room(s) available 😆

Is she for real? Or just winding us up?

Cruella Braverman has no idea on the plight of homelessness.

This applies to people who have rejected offers of help and cause a nuisance in public places.  Did everyone miss that bit?

So everyone thinks it's OK for tents to be erected anywhere and everywhere then.

I think Suella generally gets things right, but like all politicians, I don't agree with everything they come up with. My gut feeling is that giving an incentive to those who chose to settle for life on the streets, is no bad thing. They either need mental help to get back to be able to cope with life again, or are those who shouldn't be here trying not to be spotted by authorities. However I suspect this may be just a small portion of the homeless, and anyone temporarily in the situation shouldn't have their life made worse. I think it's probable that after due consideration a U-turn might be appropriate on this one.

A couple of tents but loads of beggars in Bristol city centre, most are not from Bristol and theres a family of Romanians that sit in various places begging and then go home at the end of the day.

We don't seem to have eastern European beggars down this way...yet.

Your new-found kindness does you credit, Douglas.

//Suella Braverman's plan would introduce new penalties in England and Wales for homeless people who authorities believe have rejected offers of help.//

I wonder what new penalties could be imposed on a homeless person. Anyone got any ideas?
