My Singer sewing machine No FA157521 Model No 66, is a treadle type of machine on a table where the machine can collapse under the table and then the table reverts to a table. The actual machine is beautifully designed. Has this machine got any value or is it time for me to head to the local dump?

I had my mother's treadle which I used for many years. I was moving house so put it on ebay. I was successful so give it a go!

Look on eBay...prices for old Singer machines anywhere from £5 to 225.

A quick google shows a range of current selling prices from £100-£400, but of course that doesn't mean that anyone is buying them.

Try advertising it locally if you no longer want it.

There is a charity which reconditions sewing machines and also tools of various sorts.  They are then sent to (mainly) African countries.   I can't think of the name but if you want to go down that route a quick Google might help

I think the name might be Tools for Life.

When my wife was a student nurse she knocked up her wedding dress and two bridesmaids dresses on one of those. She bought it for a couple of pounds in a junk shop in the Harrow Road. She loved that old machine and I bet she wishes now she had kept it.

Oh yes, don't just take it to the tip.  Some of these are far better and sturdier than their modern counterparts.  As others have said, if you really don't want to keep it, then look up previous selling prices on EBay.  Someone will definitely want it.

No no no no no not the tip, anything but the tip, a rare old item, we must preserve them surely..

This vendor has had this one on offer for a couple of days on eBay, with a £30 starting bid being sought but with no takers so far:

This vendor is more optimistic, seeking £80 (but, again, without any takers yet) on a 'Buy it Now' basis:

So you're probably not going to be able to holiday in the Bahamas on what you might get for yours 😒

FA 1575-- is June 1910

and they are going for 200-300

Don't tip it! Someone would love to own it. Our grandmother had one, and even then, we thought it  was wonderful that it could turn back into a table.
