...Chez TTT has a wasp nest in the cavity wall. Bought some stuff on line to fix the issue, false economy, didn't work! Had to get the pros in. Guy just showed up here about 5 minutes, sorted, 80 sovs! Not a bad hourly rate! Still worth it If it's fixed I guess!

I have nothing against the critters LB just don't want them in my wall! The exterminator guy was telling that they can eat through the morter, plaster etc and end up in the house!

chico: "I can't help finding it amusing somehow that TTT's home got invaded by a swarm of illegal immigrants ;-) " - it's ok because I did a deal with guy in the next street who says his cavities are a safe home for them!
TTT - isn't it also the case that there's a convenient barge anchored just down the coast from you?
Apparently, WD40 sprayed on a nest will get rid of the wasps.
I think you were overcharged. Just last week we got the professional in for the same job-£55

15:18, well they already had a nice safe hole in the wall just across the street, not sure why they even crossed over to my house!
Question Author
probably JJ I have no idea what it should cost!
Better facilities at yours.

Pete65: "Apparently, WD40 sprayed on a nest will get rid of the wasps. " - problem is that the actual nest was inside the wall.
I paid £30 for guys call out to look at my wasps - they never came back.

But I do recall Gness saying - the wasps do go away round about August - I am just after looking _mine were coming through the loo pipe. They are gone.
I had a wasps nest once and the guy we got to remove it ran away quaking in fear. Second guy now was brilliant, had no fear, waded in & disposed of the nest.
I was just going to post on similar lines ladybirder, one summer we had three nests, one in the garage door space, one in the loft and a hornet nest in a tree above the barbecue. That one appeared very late in the season first hard frost and they were all gone. Just used to hang something sweet from the trees at the end of the garden so they weren't a pest when we were outside.
