just wanted a little opinion. have this wonderful friend home from Australia after 8 years - staying with family but finding fault with almost everything. Everybody is wrong so I love this friend and I am believing she is right - of course called I round to the house this after noon and she is telling me I am wrong too. ie hearing aid problems.

This lady used to be the most loving and still is softly spoken person in my life now against me and her family is saying - they're all wrong - over the years nobody has said wonderful things for her and her family (Australia) _ I cant seem to handle it. Actually I'm broken hearted.

Everybody is against her (family) - like her children have done wonderfully well in Australia but nobody has said anything about them 5 of them are teachers.. But like all the children there - all the brothers children have done well here too. I'm devastated.

I unfortuntely told her that one of the brothers said something when she was leaving someone out the door - I meant sorta lighthearted - now she is going to start/pull this brother tomorrow night - this brother is quite ill too.

PS - she has buried a 3 year old and one year old grandchildren 2 yers ago. And I am putting it down to that - I do hope so.

She could be realising what she has missed being so far away from family. Maybe her life is less than perfect but she cannot admit that.
Maybe she is jealous of how the family is managing without her.
Maybe she doesn't like you having made other friends and living your own life without her. Sometimes returning from time and distance away is difficult

thanks for that Calmca - some good points there. I know there is nobody perferct but she she is so much a kind wonderful person and may I say never Auustralia - she has been home before -but she is seemed to more angrier and crosser BUT to her all our fault here. I am a little afraid of her - this is n't the person I knew for 30 years.
She sounds sad jj, maybe something is worrying her. Spend some time with her alone just you and her .
Though we all change as the years pass .
hard to keep up with things happening on the other side of the world - I suppose it's possible if you're skyping and zooming all the time, but 10 hours' time difference makes it awkward.
Could it be a bit of dementia?
How long has she been back in the UK?
Sometimes friends just grow apart, people change and then you find the old relationship is gone, maybe too much has happened for her to be the same person, it sounds like it. If you were to meet her as a stranger today, would you want to be her friend? If the answer is no, accept the loss and let it go.
