I certainly didn't. Being forced to watch shopping channels would be my idea of hell!

Think of all those 'bargains' you might have missed, Tomus42 ;-)

You missed the opportunity to be ripped off as a consumer Tomus42
I once stumbled across a shopping channel and was mesmerised. I was completely baffled as to how two people could talk so enthusiacally about a product for so long.

I was very surprised to learn that a seemingly sensible, mature woman paid £4k for a ring advertised on such a channel.

Mine too, I don't know anyone who's ever bought from them, how do they survive

The one I avoid is create and craft, especially in the cardmaking run up to christmas( August to October) Their stuff is really nice to work with but ridiculously expensive.
If one of my elderly neighbours passes away before I want her stash, she has been buying from them for years, and like a lot of crafters barely uses any of it.
They were big pre internet shopping.

Rather irrelevant now.
Never watched a shopping channel in my life
I have one of those at home, rowanwitch, and she's part of a group of them!

Many are held in thrall by that odd collection of babbling misfits.
No, don't watch any of the shopping channels, I'd rather watch paint dry. I do know someone addicted to a craft channel. She spends a lot of money on stuff she'll never use. Her daughters have started making cards to get rid of some of it. I'd buy some from them but it's the kinds of things I don't want to start using.
Never, my idea of hell too.
Many years ago when shopping channels were in their infancy I was impressed with an offer of drill bits. They seemed to be exceedingly sharp and fit for purpose. The set I received weren't, the metal was so soft they didn't break, applying any pressure they just bent. That was my first and last venture into buying from a shopping channel.
30 odd years ago I bought a small novelty Christmas tree from QVC. When it sensed movement it opened its eyes and mouth and shouted ho, ho, ho and sang jingle bells. The kids loved it and it surprised a few visitors.

The flamboyance is strong in these ones. One woman and one big queen per session.
Yeah, I bought a few things at a good price. But surprised they were still around until now.

Thanks for all the posts. It seems like any new shopping channel, which might pop up to replace Ideal World, probably isn't isn't going to get many viewers from people here ;-)
