Why does my printer have a LOUD and a QUIET mode.
The loud mode is vile, so what is the point of it?

Thanks for that. Do you find it an asset? (Assuming that you have LOUD and SOFT on your printer)
Choosing 'Loud Mode' results in a faster printing speed, which might be important to someone who's printing a large number of pages.
