i have a large pampas grass when is the right time to split

The best time is in mid spring, just as the new growth begins. Chop sections from the clump with a sharp spade, devide further by hand and trasplant as a clump.

Be sure to wear strong gloves, as the leaves are razor sharp. Good Luck Tbird+
